A Needed Day Off...

Every now and then I have to take a day off work just to spend some extra special time with my special little girl. Last week I did just that! After working for 30 plus days straight and not seeing much of each other we needed a day. And what a perfect day it was.

We started the day off with a bit of a chilly last swimming lesson for the summer. She did so well with lessons this summer and loved her teacher Miss Kimmie. They were quite a pair. We had to get a special surprise for Kimmie for the last day, we found out that she loves oatmeal cream pies. Well of course Charlot thought that two boxes were required! Next we sat out to have an awesome lunch with family to celebrate my Auntie Charlene's birthday. Sorry no pictures we were to busy enjoy each others company!

After lunch was completed Charlot and I decided to kid nap this Miss Mia and go have an afternoon at the park. These two as cousins and friends are the absolute best!

Miss Mia became a big sister earlier this summer so I think the afternoon was appreciated by both Mia and her momma.

Most of the time at the park was spent playing and laughing and telling me to take their picture here and over here. Oh it was quite a time!

Just the looks on their faces oh so sweet and so ornery all at the same time. I know they both look quite sweet but let me tell you they are little pistols

Last picture of the day. I couldn't have imagined a better way to spend my day away from work. So much fun and love.

Tea Party Birthday...

This little nugget is four today! Four years old today to be exact, ouch that kind of hurts for Momma to hear. I never imagined how much this little bit would change my heart but she has, and I am so thankful for that!

No clue why this is blurry but hey we tried

We celebrated yesterday with family and friends in high tea style. I asked Charlot several months ago what kind of party she wanted instantly she said a TEA PARTY and she never changed her mind like I figured she would. So a tea party fit for a four year old princess it was.

This party was so much fun to plan. I didn’t to a ton of decorations, I let the desserts and their trays be the decorations for each table. We did all the food in pretty much bit sized versions, PB&J finger sandwiches, ham and cheese roll-ups, veggies, strawberries and grapes, mini-cupcakes and sugar cookies. I set up a special table for the little girls who attended the party, they felt so important and grown-up it was too cute. We also had a trunk filled with feather boas, beads, head bands, and rings for the guest to dress up if they wanted. Each little girl also took home her own tea pot necklace, they were so cute.

Thank you so much to everyone who came and celebrated it was a “tea”riffic time!
By the way this was all the loot she needed to take to the sitter's today!

One Busy Three Year Old…

Over the past week we have had one crazy busy three year old at our house. She has a fuller social calendar than her momma. Am I sad about that no, I kind of like my hermit life. Back to the kid. She has had Frozen themed dance camp, vacation bible school, and her first pig show of the season. This little lady has been active.
The dance camp she attended was so much fun each day the girls got to dress up like princesses and meet a new charcter from “Frozen.” All the dances they learned were to some of the songs from the movie. It was a very fun camp and a great experience for Miss Charlot. The best part was is her cousin Mia attended the same camp so they got to spend the week together.

Oh what a pair
Mia and Charlot also attended VBS together with their cousin Dexter, quite the trio. I am not certain their teacher was really ready for these three. But I know they loved every minute of it. On the final night of VBS they had a little program where they sang songs and showed all of us parents what they had learned throughout the week. It was such a cute program Miss Mia was quite the singer, and Charlot gladly provided her back up.

Lastly on Saturday Daisy and Charlot made their world debut!!! It was a lovely day and as I told my dad who asked how it went (they are traveling in Alaska so they couldn’t be there). “It went great!” “They walked in the ring, walked around, got their dollar and got out. No crying kid and a happy pig!”

Here is a shot of momma who has had more windshield time this week than necessary!
Hope all of you have an amazing week!!! I am off to take her to swimming lessons!!!

Wonderful Fall Weekend!

Shoot it has been busy around our house! This past weekend was no different but was full of fun! On Friday my Grandma had the honor of riding in the Missouri State Corn Husking Parade because she is the guest artist in the local quilt show. She is an amazingly talented quilter. So of course we all had to go out and support her during the parade, plus what kid doesn’t love a parade! Then Friday night was our local fall festival baby contest, Charlot had a fun time in that. She didn’t win but she will always be the prettiest and sweetest baby in my eyes.

The weekend fun continued with my 10 YEAR CLASS REUNION, wow I am getting old, on Saturday. We had so much fun catching up and letting our kids play together. I am from a small town and only graduated with 29 people so don’t judge how many people showed up, small but mighty!

Saturday night was the annual fall festival parade and my big brother’s FFA chapter ice cream social!

Wow we had a busy few days but boy oh boy were they fun! Enjoy some of the wonderful shots from the fun filled weekend.

Queen Quilter for the Day, Hooray! I think she is so so pretty!!!
