Mother's Day Weekend Recap...

I know Mother’s Day is over and I am well aware if I was going to do a recap it probably should have been done yesterday, but hey it’s me and I would not wait to share that salad with you. That means today you get to see all about my weekend, could I have skipped this post and provided more timely information yes, but again it me, I want to document this past weekend for me!

We started out Saturday morning with breakfast with my parents; my great Aunt who had been here since the bro’s wedding was flying out Saturday. Thus breakfast was needed to see her off; it was awesome to have her here for a visit. I prepared the above bread, delish, recipe coming sometime this week!
After breakfast Charlot and I headed to town to purchase groceries and do a little Mother’s Day shopping for my momma and the Hubs mom. My dad met us at a local nursery to pick something out for my mom. It was so much fun shopping with him; Charlot showed him everything in the place. The pig planter (imagine that a pig?) in the first picture was the gift we decided on, it was from all her kids, grandkid and husband. I think she really liked it; it will make the perfect addition to her front porch.

Then Saturday evening Charlot was treated to an extra special treat! She got to go on a date with Christopher, RaRa didn’t mind I’m sure. Seriously though the hubs and I were totally not needed, other than to provide her with transportation, guess we better get used to that. She didn’t want to ride in Christopher’s trailer, she said it smelled.

Then on Sunday it was breakfast prepared by the hubs, and then church before lunch with my momma. I made lunch for all of us, it was really nice to enjoy sometime together. The last several weeks have been very hectic for all of us. Good weather in the spring for farmers=BUSY!!!

After lunch we went and visited with my MIL for a bit. Then home for the hubs to prepare supper, extra special treat! Or at least I thought that was all we were doing, Charlot had other plans. As soon as we walked in the door she announced that we needed to have a Mother’s Day dance party! I said ok, she brings out all kinds of dress up stuff and announces that she is DJ Doc and she is in the HOUSE!!! Then she dresses me up because I am queen for the day! It was such a special moment; I am so blessed to be her momma.

Even if the crown was cutting of circulation to my head…

Fall Weekend Randoms

We have had some great little fall day trips this year that I have failed miserably to blog about. The first was heading out to Fahrmeier Farms to experience their pumpkin patch and get some cute fall pictures. Well that outing was cut pretty short due to the fact that it was COLD like arctic blast cold. But still a really fun place to visit one I would highly suggest you put on your pumpkin patch list for next year.

We also spent some time at a local orchard one sunny Sunday afternoon. Charlot love the bees, they had the queen painted with a green dot, and she had so much fun finding it. Plus this orchard sold honey ice cream so they stole her heart from the word go.

I couldn't resist sharing my fall decor this year I just love everything about it!
This past weekend my parents were gracious enough to give us their tickets to the Mizzou Homecoming Football game. We had so much fun, enjoying the parade and tailgating with some friends we hadn’t seen in quite a while plus meeting some new friends. Charlot really did have fun at the game even though the last picture doesn’t indicate that, it was getting late nap time had long passed she just finally gave in.

If you and yours haven’t had the chance to get out and enjoy the glorious outdoors yet this fall do so quick! Happy Monday, tomorrow a recap of my dad-o’s birthday party!

Weekend Recap...

This past weekend Momma Linda and I headed out on a little weekend get-away with Miss Charlot. We called it her “Surprise Trip.” You see my dad was on his men’s weekend, where they go to a Mizzou football game each year, which was in South Carolina (one heck of a game by the way). And the hubs stayed back to take care of things at home.

We headed out on Friday afternoon to see some really good friends of ours Sandy and Jim who live near Springfield MO. It was a lovely weekend, we went to the fall festival in Fair Grove (HUGE ), checked out Bass Pro, I made Sandy a new wreath for her front door, and basically we just enjoyed being with them.

Charlot loved everything about the weekend and chatted most of the drive home, we thought she would sleep. I am so glad to live close enough to my momma that her and I can go and do these things. I hope that we can make this an annual tradition. When dad’s away with the football men, then it is girls weekend! I know they will be such great memories for Charlot!

Weekend Recap…Royals, Boots and Birthdays

This was the first weekend the hubs and I have had off of work in over a month and we made certain to take advantage of it!

We started the weekend off on Friday evening heading to the “K” for an awesome Royals game. It was Mizzou night (my alma mater), so dressing in our best tiger gear was mandatory. The stadium was filled with tiger fans, tiger cheerleaders, The Golden Girls, and of course Truman! This was a whole family event, my parents, my brother and his fiancé, and the three of us. What a fun evening it was, sweaty but fun! We took Charlot out to the kid’s outfield experience and she had a ball! The carousel was her favorite!

Charlot must have decided to try out everything the ball park had to offer and pretty much ate everything in sight. Hot dog, cheese puffs, Scooby snacks, ice cream with m and m’s, and pretty much all of my frozen lemonade, plus one or five Pepsi. In addition to the great food the game was great and the Royals pulled out a solid win. Then to top things off on Friday nights fireworks follow the game they were plain and simply amazing. To quote my three year old “Pap that was the best night EVER!”

Seriously if you haven’t taken your family out to a Royals game and you live close you definitely should it is a great family friendly place!

Saturday morning Charlot and I kind of hung around the house cleaned did laundry the normal Saturday morning stuff. Once we had finished our chores she and I headed out for some much need retail therapy! A girl simply cannot show hogs in the same boots she had last year, ok they don’t fit anymore either! I let her pick out her own this year, and these puppies were the only pair she wanted to try on and we walked out of the store with them on her feet. They didn’t leave her feet until I finally insisted that she not wear them to bed.

We finished off the weekend celebrating the Hubs grandmother’s 92nd birthday! Grandma Zella is one of Charlot’s favorite people and we were so excited to celebrate with her!

Great fun filled weekend!
